David Penela's Biography
David Penela is a full-time freelance illustrator and a part-time professional pizza eater based in Porto, Portugal.
He graduated in Fine Arts-Multimedia and Mastered in Drawing and Printmaking at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto. David has participated in numerous solo and collective shows in Portugal and abroad and is a frequent collaborator of Ó! Galeria.
David’s work embraces the fields of drawing, illustration and printmaking. He prefers to explore analog techniques, materials and textures to create images and complement his digital work. The illustrations he makes always have some reflection of who he is, landscapes, everyday life and things that he grew up with. Right now he is using spray cans, stencil and masks on fancy paper and exploring the texture of it all.
