Luciana Fernandez's biography
I constantly research in the different possibilities that the materials offer, taking advantage of the light and texture that the use of volume permits. I work, mainly, with plasticine which I combine with collages, paintings, photoshop and others. The original of these illustrations is a high quality digital photograph.
I was born in 1966 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I graduated in the National School of Fine Arts Prilidiano Pueyrredón, specializing in sculpture. I studied Sculpture with the masters Juan Maffi, Leo Vinci and Juan Carlos; Distéfano; Contemporary Art with lic. Alicia Romero; and Illustration with Istvan Schritter and Claudia Legnazzi.
I joined several collective and individual exhibitions and participated in many galleries.
Presently I am working in the design and making of characters for advertising, models for 3D and Stop Motion.
I am member of ADA (Argentinean Association of Drawers) and Foro de Ilustradores (children’s illustrators group). My illustrations are published in Argentina, other Latin American countries and Europe.
"Luciana has done an excellent job in imagining and designing characters, adapting her work to the needs of each book, and working with textures and colours in a creative and beautiful way. Her attitude towards corrections was always positive and she was at all times open to take our comments into account. And finally, she has also proved to be very responsible meeting deadlines and fulfilling technical specifications to hand in. All things considered, Luciana is a pleasure to work with not only because of the professionalism but also because of her talent."
