Vasco Gargalo's Biography
Vasco Gargalo is an awarded Portuguese cartoonist/illustrator who aims to draw for the freedom of speech. With cartoons publishedin several media such as “Courrier International”, “Spotsatire Magazine”, “Sábado Magazine”, he also counts with over ten books published. His work has gained international recognition by collaborating with Cartoon Movement and taking part of many exhibitions and contests. In 2016, he has won four Honorable Mentions: The United Nations Ranan Lurie Political Cartoon Award; The 1st Kuwait Cartoon Festival; The 9th Edition of D. Quichotte International Cartoon Contest (Quo Vadis Europe/Journey of Hope); The 18th World Festival PortoCartoon. In 2005, he won the Illustration Youth Award at the “National Hall Press Humor” and received an Honorable Mention at the “Portuguese-Galician Hall of Caricature”.
