Zuzana Bočkayová Bruncková's Biography
Zuzana Bočkayová Bruncková is a Slovak illustrator based in Bratislava. She graduated from Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (Dept. of Printmaking and Book Illustration). Her work is exclusively based on a painterly style, where colour figures most importantly, subjects are massive and heavy, and figures/objects fill a space which seems too tight for them. She uses perspective and dynamic brush strokes to move the scene and inject it with disturbance and excitement. Her expression is often stylized to provide the figures with character and hint at a deeper message.
